I’ve helped people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures find lasting solutions for struggles related to anxiety and depression, relationship issues, addiction, and parenting. I also provide counseling for men and at-risk youth. Whatever struggles you face, I offer a dedicated, client-focused approach for helping you heal, grow, and build meaningful relationships with yourself, others, and Christ.

I welcome individuals and families to partner with myself and Christ for building healthy, joyful lives. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I’ve had the honor of leading people towards recovery for a wide-variety of challenges including anxiety and depression, relationship struggles, grief, and addiction. I’m also passionate about helping parents and at-risk youth as well as offering counseling for men. Whatever your struggle, my ultimate hope for you is to find real and lasting solutions for healing emotionally, relationally, and spiritually through a combination of experienced counseling psychology and faith in Christ.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

As a Christian counselor, my hope is to help people see the faithfulness of the Father in their lives. I strongly believe in the Lord’s faithfulness to heal—not just physically, but emotionally—from loneliness, disappointment, anger, anxiety and fear, depression, and deep relational scars. In turning to Christ, we can experience his loving presence, peace, joy, and victory over the trials of this world. As your Christian counselor, I want to help you feel empowered in all you hope to accomplish.

By looking at spiritual, psychological, biological, and social influences in your life, I can quickly identify the source of your troubles while offering lasting solutions for positive change and growth. Whether working with individuals, or families, I provide compassion, hope, and genuine care for helping clients reach their goals for healing and personal growth.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

I believe having a Christian approach to counseling makes a huge difference. Without a Christian perspective, most counseling efforts are made to change one’s circumstances in order to alleviate symptoms of anger, depression, anxiety, or whatever “negative” emotion is being experienced. With the Christian perspective, we can discover the full reason for the circumstances we are in, find more peace as we grow in accepting our circumstances, and discover our purpose and vision for the next steps in our lives. From there, we can freely love God and people. I combine faith-based tools and perspectives along with professional training and experience to accommodate the needs of each person. Providing the best-quality counseling possible is my goal, which is why I pull from all available sources and continuously look for ways to learn and grow.

Biography

Qualifications and Experience

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at our Redmond and Bellevue offices. I earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University and have been licensed in the State of Washington since 2010. I completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from The Harbor view Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Foundational Training with the Linehan Institute and Behavioral Tech, LLC. I’m experienced in helping individuals, and families from a variety of cultures and backgrounds overcome struggles related to anxiety and depression, anger management, grief and loss, addiction, conflict, men’s issues, as well as counseling for parents and at-risk youth.

My Call to Christian Counseling

God has a way of guiding our lives, even when we can’t see it yet. Looking back over my life, I can see how the Lord has shaped me, preparing me for a career in Christian counseling. God has enriched my life with many experiences and relationships that have given me perspective that later became a huge part of my counseling practice. I grew up in a large family that was always open to people in need. From foreign exchange students from around the world to grandparents and cousins, I formed an interest in understanding where people come from emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Though I didn’t fully see how my upbringing helped prepare me as a counselor, I did have a strong desire to make a difference. As God helped me heal and grow throughout my counseling career, I can see how growing up in a large, diverse family has shaped my practice. With family and friends from all over the world, I learned the power of perspective, and what it really means to love my neighbor as Christ loves us by helping people of all backgrounds find healing and connection with Christ.

More About Me

For me, serving God, my family, and others is what matters most. It’s the simple joys in life that I live for. I’m married and have a wonderful step son with special needs, so spending time with him in ways that brings him happiness is important to me. We enjoy church, going for walks, and each other’s company. I also enjoy reading, football, and traveling.

Families

As a step-father to a teenager with high-functioning autism, helping children in need is very close and dear to my heart. I’ve always had a strong interest in helping young people, which is a large part of what drew me to Christian counseling. In grad school I interned with Youth East side Services, and worked for nearly three years at Friends of Youth as an outpatient counselor. In total, I have over 10 years’ experience working with at-risk youth, exposing me to a wide range of challenges parents face with their children. I’ve worked with disabled and special needs youth, youth who deal drugs and were incarcerated for sexual crimes, and everything in between like anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harming behavior, anger problems, and more. Helping parents and their children heal brokenness and rebuild relationships is very rewarding, and I’ve had the honor of facilitating that healing no matter how minor or severe the problem might have seemed.

Men’s Counseling

As a Christian counselor, husband, and father-figure, I have learned a lot about what it means to be a man of God. Though I’ve experienced my fair share of struggles, the Lord has offered his mercy and guidance time and time again, and I’m honored to help men of all ages overcome hardships so they can grow to be the husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, and men they were created to be. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, relational problems, sexual issues, workaholism, or questions of faith, I will help you work through these issues using a combination of evidence-based counseling and faith in Christ for redemption and healing.

Addiction

Like the apostle Paul teaches us, sin is bondage, and through Christ we are promised healing from those bonds. Few things are as gripping as addiction, and as a Christian counselor, I’m very grateful for the faithfulness of Christ as he helps those who are afflicted in this way. In my personal life, I have seen people close to me struggle with various forms of addiction, giving me a personal interest in helping people find freedom from things like drug, alcohol, gaming, food, and sexual addiction. I’ve worked in juvenile residential treatment facilities, helping teens recover from drug related crimes. I also led a Pure Desire group at church for helping men overcome sexual addiction. My experiences, both professionally and personally, provide me with the insight and tools for helping people of all ages and backgrounds find freedom from addiction.

Payment and Forms

Sessions: I offer 53-minute sessions. Sessions can be held more than once per week, weekly, or every other week. Scheduling options are discussed in greater detail during your Risk-Free Initial Session.

  • Redmond– Tuesday, Wednesday
  • Mill Creek– Thursday

Fees: I offer a Risk-Free Initial Session for Individuals, Families looking to pursue counseling with me. Please note that there is a fee for the Risk-Free Initial Session as it is a clinical hour and reimbursable to most insurance companies, but if you choose not to reschedule and continue therapy after the initial session the entire fee for the session will be waived. For ongoing treatment, the full fee per session is required at the time of service.

Insurance: As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) a majority of insurance companies will reimburse for a portion of my services (as an Out of Network Provider). Please consult with your insurance provider as to whether they specifically cover individuals and families.

Receipts/Statements: In the event you require a printed or digital receipt, I will provide receipts for personal use, insurance reimbursement, Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).

Payment options: Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express). A fee of up to 3.7% plus $0.15 per transaction will be added for credit card payments.

About Biography Services Payment
