Jennifer Noble, MA, LMHCA

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
(425) 549-3232 jennifern@seattlechristiancounseling.com

We were created for life-giving relationships with God, one another, and ourselves. Fear, hurt, and even cultural pressure often cloud our perception and we can become forgetful of the truth of who God is, who we are, and where we’re going. But the Lord offers us a tremendous exchange policy. He gives us strength when we come to Him in weakness. He gives us the grace to rise above tremendous difficulty when we give Him our trust with even the smallest seed of faith and hope. As your counselor, I will point the way and walk alongside you as a reminder that God promises to never leave us or abandon us. Together we will rely on the Holy Spirit and proven therapeutic techniques to find the hope, healing, and restoration you desire.

About

Whether a person is seasoned in their walk with God or just beginning the journey, each of us experience moments in life when we need human help and support. In our sessions together there may be hard work to do and challenges for you to work through, but I believe this is how we grow. You’ll also have opportunities to get to know more about yourself in the process, and to better understand and recognize any ways of thinking and being that have masked your true self. I know firsthand that God is able to make all things new and beautiful in His time.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

My primary goal as a counselor is to be a vessel and instrument that God can use to provide help, encouragement, comfort, and support to individuals, couples, and families, particularly during a time of healing and restoration. I hope that every client that I come in contact with will be encouraged, strengthened, and free to be all that God has intended them to be.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

I offer a safe, sacred, and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. I depend on the Holy Spirit to bring to the surface what needs to be dealt with. Sometimes the things that emerge are emotionally difficult to talk about, but I have found that there is great freedom in discovering that mercy has been waiting for you and that mercy triumphs over judgment.

When appropriate in session, I also utilize the integration of art, music, journaling, and story crafting as well as therapeutic role play, which often proves to be a wonderful part of the therapeutic process.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

In the Gospel of John, we read about a time when many of Jesus’ disciples turned away from following Him. Jesus then asked those closest to Him, “You don’t want to go away too, do you?” Simon Peter answered, “Lord, who will we go to? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:67-68). These verses remind me that there is no other place where we can go to find true and eternal life. The world is full of distractions. We are inundated with urgent messages that make us feel fearful, inferior, or left out. Christian counseling is rooted and grounded on what God has to say to you, about you, and the plans that He has made for you.

Biography

Qualifications & Experience

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Psychology and Ministry Leadership, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Northwest University. I also have previous certifications as a nursing assistant in Kansas and Missouri and a teaching certificate in Arizona.

My Call to Christian Counseling

I have several years of combined work experience and educational training in the fields of education and nursing. While working as a classroom teacher or as a nursing assistant, my primary concern was to provide holistic care. I looked beyond the surface issues to my students’ and patients’ mental and emotional well-being. I would often ask them, “What is going on in your heart?” I believe this is the starting point for lasting change and healing to take place.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I have three grown children and three grandchildren. Since early childhood, music has been an integral part of my life. I began performing music professionally in college pubs and inns during high school and continued on with live community radio and television broadcasts, worship services, wineries, and outdoor concerts. I also love books, stories, and sappy Hallmark movies. I am most at home with nature. I love to zipline but most often keep my feet on the ground, taking long walks on the shoreline or meandering around the islands with my camera. I am thankful and blessed to live in one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth and I spend as much time outdoors as possible.

Individual Counseling (ages 10 – senior adults)

Individual counseling is a wonderful time of exploration. It is not uncommon for a client to come with one specific purpose in mind and find our focus shift completely to something unexpected, but exactly what was needed at the time. We are all mysteries to ourselves. However, the Holy Spirit searches our depths and knows our needs better than we know ourselves. It is wonderful to see the many layers of an individual unfold to reveal their most beautiful, authentic self and true identity.

Couples Counseling

Couples Counseling is a dynamic exploration process that not only focuses on each individual, but on the two becoming one. This “oneness” is an ongoing process as couples learn to navigate the sometimes muddy waters between the “already” and the “not yet” stages of relationship.

Relationship Issues

I believe that much of what pertains to couples in counseling also applies to relationship issues. In counseling I will assist you with important relational tools such as establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries, becoming a powerful person with powerful relationships, the language of communication, attachment and imprinting, communicating love vs. fear, effective conflict resolution, and levels of intimacy.

Grief and Loss

Grief is not something that we learn to “get over.” There are strong emotional ties with those we love that were not meant to be broken. We find ourselves helplessly crying out, “This is not the way life is supposed to be!” and that is very true. God did not create us to know death in the beginning, and we can read in His Word that He paid the highest price so that we might live with Him forever. And yet no one on earth is exempt from suffering loss, and no one will escape this life without dying a physical death.

Grief and loss counseling is a safe place where you can work through your deepest emotional pain and mental anguish. It is a place to recognize that losing what is most meaningful to us is a loss of our own personal identity as well. It is a place of planting a seed in the dark, barren ground with hope for new life to come from it. And once the seed is planted, it is watered with godly counsel and the tools that keep us grounded in the season of waiting. It is a time of daily surrender and moment by moment trust. Miraculously we grow and expand in the process of grief to one day realize that the experience of suffering as well as joy is part of living an abundant life.

Spiritual Development

It is possible to be in an intimate, deeply personal relationship with the God who is wholly devoted to you and cares more about your success in life than you can imagine. This relationship is unlike any other because God loves us from the inside out, through and through, and perfectly. But similar to earthly relationships, there is the need for development, which requires daily discipline, consistency, faithfulness, and a willing heart. Counseling for Spiritual Development can help to train and equip you to go the distance of what is, as Peterson has written, “A long obedience in the same direction.”
